What's Tom Robbins worst book?

Tom Robbins is probably my favorite author, I've read Another Roadside Attraction, Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, Still Life With Woodpecker, and Fierce Invalids, and I'd say Fierce Invalids is my favorite with Cowgirls as a close second. My therapist is the one who recommended me to him, but he says the only book he couldn't really get into was Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas. I'll read it anyway, but for Tom Robbins fans, is there a book that doesn't contain the juice as some of the others for you?

My experience, in descending order of enjoyment:

Skinny Legs and All
Jitterbug Perfume
Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates
Even Cowgirls Get the Blues
Still Life with Woodpecker
Another Roadside Attraction
Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas

Haven't read Villa Incognito yet . . .

Generally speaking, Half Asleep received the worst reviews.

and generally speaking, critics reviews mean nothing, especially with a writer like tom robbins ... you either get him or you don't ... great and underrated writer ...

i'm actually not a fan of Another Roadside Attraction. the story just didn't grab me as much as his other works. my favorites of his (which also top my list of all-time favorite books) are Skinny Legs and All, and Jitterbug Perfume. those are both phenomenal books. i've just started on Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, and i'm enjoying it quite a bit. maybe after i finish, i'll give Another Roadside Attraction one more go.

Tom Robbins is by far my favorite author. His books have changed my entire outlook on life and self expression. I even have a 'Still Life with Woodpecker' tattoo. The only book I have yet to read of his is 'Villa Incognito.' With that novel aside, I can honestly say that I have never read a Tom Robbins novel that disappointed me in any way. His work is utterly amazing.

I'm reading Villa Incognito right now and it is rather scrumptious, it did take a few chapters for it to really start blooming, but the seed serves a purpose. I loved Another Roadside Attraction, I was expecting something less because it was his first book and all. The only thing that disappointed me a little was the mummy, and the ending felt out of place, sort of. But I loved Mon Cul, I loved the mushroom picking, and I loved how some of it took place in aberdeen cause I'm a big Nirvana fan. also, Marx Marvelous kidnapping a baboon in order to get the attention of amanda and ziller was genius.

Isn't Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas the one written in 2nd person? I think that's why a lot of people had a problem with that book. I read it a long time ago and from what I remember it's really not that bad. You surprisingly get used to it after while.

I really liked Frog Pajamas. Lots of good stuff on the stock market, capitalism, and Timbuktu. I'd say that the one I enjoyed less then the others was 'Cowgirls,' or even 'Woodpecker.' My top three are 'Invalids,' 'Skinny Legs,' and 'Jitterbug.'

Hiya!
I've read all his books but the most recent which is a semiautobiography. You will love Halfasleep. It is awesome! It is weird the way it is written. I started it three times in a month but when I finally decided to pass the first 50-60 pages I got used to the way it is written and LOVED it. To me, my least favorite book is his most recent novel. Villa Incognito. I just didn't find the appeal in the characters. Took me a whole summer to finish it and read three - four different books in between. The rest are AMAZING. You should read Jitterbug perfume (One of the best books ever written!)
