I was curious about that too. I wondered if she got rid of Mattie because she knew or felt something was going on. I was also curious if she heard Mattie and Ethan the night before Mattie left in her bedroom. She mentioned hearing something last night but said it must have been the fox dying but makes me wonder if she was just letting Ethan know she knew.
