Book vs Film

I thought the book was tragic, about regret, missed chances, forbidden love,dark poverty, but the movie had so many laughable scenes. Zeena licking the spoon from the blue medicine bottle, Mattie's remarks, "Sweeeet!" and "I can see the moooon in your eyes.", not to mention all the giggling and that stupid song! Also I swear my body temperature dropped looking at that freezing town!
