Everytime I see this tv movie, usually aired on Lifetime, it just gives me the chills!! Kate Jackson gives a wonderfully creepy performance. And how incredibly frightening that it's based on actual events!
shareYes I can believe it can happen in real life and actually it has! I know of at least 2 cases now! First was when Michelle Bica killed then-23 yr old Theresa Andrews for her baby boy in 2000, in Ohio, and more recently when Lisa Montgomery killed 23 yr old Bobbi Jo Stinnett for her baby girl in Dec. 2004!?!
It nearly makes me cry every time I hear about another stolen baby! :'(
I remember years ago (early/mid 80's) reading a story in Reader's Digest about a very similar incident and I think the movie was based on this story. It was called "My Baby Can't Be Dead!"
Many of the details were the same (mother "delivers" stillborn, yet felt baby moving while in labor; stillborn was undersized yet mother's abdomen size was consistent with a full-term baby; a pregnant woman murdered and fetus removed; both kidnapped babies found in home of a woman who was later found to have had a hysterectomy.)
Wow! I suppose that that would be a story that one would not forget. And thanks for providing the title of the article.

I was surprised to see by the screen notes, before the closing credits, that this was based on true events. I didn't know then that it was from what happened a long time ago. I'd like to think that it couldn't happen now.
