What happened to Laker?

So what ever happened to Dominic LaBanca? I know this wasn't one of those movies that is supposed to pave the way to Hollywood stardom, but realistically, he was one of the best actors/fighters in the genre. I love this movie, and rank it among my favorites of all time.
So please, if you have any idea, what happened to him?

Last I heard he was working at clubfitness as a personal trainer. That's all I know for now.
