DVD back cover text is complete nonsense!

I borrowed the Double Dragon DVD from a friend. On the back cover there's a description of the movie and some pictures, and then it says (translated from Danish, and Danish currency changed to 1994 US dollars value):

"The epic movie, with more than 14 million dollars worth of unbelievable special effects, based on the most popular TV-game ever!"

Oh really?

reply

hahaha Tv-Game brilliant

reply

Somehow that's entirely appropriate for this one.

Truffaut: Do dreams have a bearing on your work?
Hitchcock: Daydreams, probably.

reply

...based on the most popular TV-game ever!"

This was based on Wheel of Fortune? Huh.

Wut

reply

Yeah, in some countries they call console video games "TV games," because you play them on, you know, your TV.

reply

This was originally a hit arcade game, not a home console video game.

A massive arcade hit in 1987. I worked for 'Time Out' arcade in 1988. This arcade game had to be emptied twice a week because the quarters filled up the bin so fast...over $800 week.

reply

Interesting. But in some countries they may not have gotten the arcade unit.

reply

I don't see a problem

reply

It reads like it was originally in another language, then someone made a bad translation.
