The climax is unlikely in a Scooby-Doo kind of way and, then, outlandish in a Hellraiser kind of way. Writer/director Avi Nesher obviously wanted to shake things up for the last act. Although confusing, I suppose the revelations make sense: Those who abused and manipulated Holly for their own selfish ends -- her father and her doctor -- unknowingly caused what happens to her.
Yet two mysteries remain:
- Just because the doctor puts on a mask, wig & apparel of Holly, it wouldn't make his body feminine and alluring, like hers. He'd still have his skinny male physique. Not to mention it wouldn't shrink his height to Holly's petite stature.
- When Holly splits into two entities on the couch, why are they shaped like tall, thin alien-looking monsters? Wouldn't they more naturally look like her with one relatively normal and the other darker?
