Demolition Man 2 coming

Sly said so on his insta Q&A
https://www.ign.com/articles/demolition-man-2-warner-bros-sylvester-stallone

I figured it might happen as DM had kind of become something of cult 90s movie and the 90s is going to be happening in a big way like the 80s .

Snipes could come back as a clone. Bullock would probably be up for it. Just set it 30y on from DM like BR2049

He also said 'Hunter' îs going to happen (remember those rumours for Rambo 5 was going to be like a SF thriller like Predator?)

reply

Would Bullock come back though? I feel like she'd act as if she's above movies like that now.

I don't know about that. She won an Oscar for Blindside so she may just go back to doing some action movie type roles. Though personally I don't think this movie should get a sequel. I don't think a sequel would add much and it would feel forced.

I don't think so either. I think they said all they really needed to with this, and frankly Stallone is getting old.

Nobody who was in The Lost City can possibly be above anything...

Wow, this film was very un-politically correct for its day. Some may even argue that portions of the societal strictness lampooned in the film reflects closer today's reality than at the time of the movie's release!

History has shown to be like a rollercoaster ride - it's never a line of linear progression; where the past is just looked on as completely backwards and the future is always enlightened. There's constantly a flux between cultural good and bad. I say all of this because 'Demolition Man' shows the early signs of promise towards the closing of its run. Sometimes, it's better to start something over from scratch than trying to salvage a mess.

Pretty deep theme.

Personally, I'm still out on the jury about this working sequel.

Man, what an image; eat Taco Bell food, then have to use the 3 seashells for the restroom, lol!

You got me on that one.

Their Mexican pizzas hit the spot. Let's get some.

Mad Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) would be the hero this time round. 🙄

Snipes is still looking good
Sylvester is old, and due to numerous supplements, very puffy looking.

Still - it was a great film, and I'd love to see a sequel.... simply because that movie featured a world which may actually become a reality, given the current trajectory the world's governments are heading in. The good thing about Stallone sequels is that he isn't too keen on making them super woke, but the bad thing is - they still suck for the most part. So.... the odds are, this will still suck, even if it doesn't go woke.

Unfortunately, the sequel will be where John Spartan discovers she was always a woman and learns that kicking bad guy ass is politically insensitive so she goes to work peacefully stopping all the ass kickers by giving them hugs and kisses.

Damn it - I knew it! @@ lol
