Funny movie but makes me want to puke.

Yeah, let's save millions off the budget, then turn right around and spend it on something else. Job bills. As big as FDR. Talk about sending the country off the deep end thinking the government can actually put people back to work. Obama's been trying for 6 years and as of the elections we saw a few weeks ago, we know how that has turned out.

reply

Do you have any idea how little an amount $650,000,000 is in the budget? We spend more than $2,000,000,000 a day on defense. A DAY. Your lack of intelligence is quite sad.

reply

Unlike the military, job bills have never been shown to work. They are just slush funds for political allies. For example, the Obama 2009 stimulus and the 1992 Clinton jobs bill.

Given that the military employs 1.4 million personnel, 800,000 part-time reservists and hundreds of thousands of civilian contractors, you could say that the $650 billion a year the US spends on the military is the only effective jobs program Congress ever passed.

"You didn't come into this life just to sit around on a dugout bench, did ya?"

reply

Actually, you're completely wrong.

When the Works Programs were created immediately after the Great Depression, economists have estimated that for every $1 spent on those programs, $6 were returned to the Treasury.

Now just because Republicans cannot govern, nor have they done anything positive for the majority of Americans in over a generation, let's not automatically classify government in the same vein as those mopes.

Just in infrastructure repairs alone, Government Works Programs would return $2T to the Treasury in less than a decade.

However, I must say that I absolutely agree with your assessment of the Military Industrial Complex!

The military is a jobs program. The world's largest. Just think about how many people (civilian and military) are dependent on the military and defense budgets.

reply

The military is not a jobs program. It teaches people how to kill other people.

reply

The job includes killing people.

reply

I lack intelligence because wasting 650 million isn't enough to justify? Gimme a break. Take this bill, and all the other crap government spends and now it's 2016 and Obama has double the national debt to 18 trillion. He is not good at money.

Besides, why would you want to save a homeless shelter??

Same reason you feed stray cats.

The repubs stopped the dems from any real action on the economy, jobs and infrastructure for 6 years and the dems were too cautious to effectively fight back.

reply

Redbrioche, Clinton didn't seem to have a problem turning the economy around with a split Congress. (Dems in charge of one house, Repubs in charge of the other.) You're argument is a strange one to be sure. Obama is no Bill Clinton, and his handling of the economy and the way he blatantly blames "political opposition" only on the Republicans, and not on the Democrats that oppose him is just shi-ty, dirty politicking.

reply

Really? So, tell me please, just how did the Republicans manage to stop Obama when the Democrats had a large majority in the House and a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate for Obama's first two years? And the last four years, he's still had a majority in the Senate with Harry Reid suspending filibusters, bottling up Republican legislation and a hardly competent Republican leadership opposing him in the House. Now, he just signs an executive order and bypasses Congress completely if he wants something, for example amnesty for illegal aliens. So, tell me again, how has anyone stopped Obama from doing anything he wanted?

Truth is, Obama has taken all sorts of action, from a $1 trillon stimulus to nationlizing health care and the auto industry. I won't even get into foreign policy. None of it hasn't worked very well. So yeah, just blame a bystander for your failures.

I bope someone as lazy with their facts as you is also too lazy to vote.

FDR did put millions to work. U.S. economy is far stronger under Presodent Obama than it ever was when either Bush was in office.

If you actually had any real facts, you would never had made such outrageously untrue statements.

The saddest part is that this is how government really works except for the happy ending. Men like Dave are THE KIND OF PERSON WE ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE RUNNING THIS COUNTRY. After the film is over and I remember what a nauseating joke our real government is, THEN I want to vomit.

Eventually, there will come a day when science acknowledges the supernatural

reply

Yep, turned out just fine. Much better than that joke before Obama.
