For the love of God, help me out here!

I don't know if I'm crazy or what, but I remember seeing this movie as a kid and at the end Jack Palance turned out to be a bad guy and got all of his skin burned off and the heroes destroyed him, Casey Jones turned out to be a cyborg, and some other stuff happened. That is how I remember it from my childhood. A few years ago, I watched this movie again on a tape that my aunt had and it seemed very different from what I remember. Jack Palance was a good guy all the way through and at the end Casey Jones was old and he and the Jolie were living in the desert. Please, for the love of all that is good and holy, someone tell me that I am not the only one who has seen this? It might just be easier to rent the damn thing and find out for myself, because who the hell posts on this board?

But for Christ's sake, if anybody can shine some light on all this ugliness, please do so. I may not survive.

Hi Caruso,
I own a copy of Cyborg2 and Jack Palance (or "Mercy") is the good guy and Colson grows old living with Jolie ("Cash") in the desert. It could be that your memories of this movie are mixed with another one. Nowhere on google could I see mention of an 'alternate ending'.

Thank God, this horrible nightmare is over. I can sleep again. I don't know what the hell movie I was watching as a kid.

At first, I was thinking Terminator when he mentioned the villainous cyborg getting its skin burned off. Then, I remembered a similar film to this one that was in itself a low budget Terminator rip off. In this one, a man and a woman were trapped in a house by some kind of government agents or something. The leader of these people was a guy who had a patch over one of his eyes. Anyway, it turned out that the male lead was a cyborg and the agents reprogramed him to try and kill the woman. I don't remember much else. That could be the film he's thinking of.

Maybe "Hands of Steel."

I saw this back in the 90's and Jack Palance was the good guy throughout the entire movie
