UK VHS says 1990 not 1993???

Just bought the UK VHS and it says on the box 1991 and on the tape 1990??? So where is this 1993 coming from?

Little late for answer but who cares. The movie was probably completed in 90/91 so the copyright would have been recorded then. It was meant for release in 92 but was shelved till 93 hence the inconsistency.

It came from someone who submitted false information, which happens all the time on here. It should be listed as 1991 as that's when it was released on video in Japan and the UK (and perhaps other countries I'm not aware of). 1993 refers to the U.S. VHS release only.

I'm also not so sure Joe D'Amato had anything to do with making this. It says here he was the co-director under the name "David Hills" but that name is nowhere to be seen in the credits. Only Laurenti (as "Martin Newlin") is credited. At one point, IMDb had D'Amato erroneously listed as the director of Troll 2 and we know that isn't the case. It's most likely he was not involved in this production at all. Gabriele Tinti isn't in this movie either even though he's listed in the cast.

Gabriel tinti was in the movie he was in the scenes at the power plant

You're right. I just skimmed through it and saw him (wearing glasses most of the time). The copyright date in the credits says 1990.

also on Comcast on demand it says 1993.?? why is that? wouldn't everyone list the movie as 1990 except for when it was released to home video?

if the theatrical release was 1993 then some entities may list that instead

no, why would they ever do that? you always go by the year it was completed not the year it was released to theaters or home video unless they are listing it by the home video release year. for instance when the cabin the woods finally came out after having been the video shelves for 2 years in 2014, they still list it as 2012.
