Forgot how great this movie was

I'm very much aware of the hate that this movie gets, but I wasn't reading any of this back when I was 7 or 8. I loved this movie as a kid, and I used to watch it with my Dad a lot too because he really liked it. Fast forward to now, I hadn't seen the movie in about 5 years or longer. Last night I spotted Cop and a Half on HBO OnDemand so today being Fathers Day (well technically yesterday but I don't count a new day until 6am, that's just me) I decided to surprise my Dad with this nostalgia trip. After reading all of the hate about it, I was expecting that I may not like the movie as much as I used to but damn it I ended up liking it even more. I really don't understand the hate for this movie. It is definitely better than Kindergarten Cop, and no, nothing is wrong with me, it is not a tooma! I actually laughed more than I thought I would too because I expected that once the movie got going I would remember everything, and I did remember everything that happened but not every line of dialogue. Golden / Devon is a natural and one of the best young actors who weren't very experienced in movies or tv that I have seen. I was really shocked to find out that Henry Winkler directed this though but overall I think he did a fine job. This is a fun movie that I feel doesn't drag on & doesn't get dull or boring. If you have never seen this movie, please do not let the hate you read for it discourage you from it. You owe yourself your own opinion of this movie. You may not like it but I bet it won't be as bad as you think. Burt Reynolds did seem a bit rusty in this film but I still enjoyed his performance. Also loved Radio's mom from 2003's "Radio" being in this as well as Charlie & Alan's mom from 2003's "Two and a Half Men". So if you've never seen this and have always skeptical about it, you might as well go along for a fun ride with Detective McKenna & Devon Butler in Cop and a Half.

It's a movie for very little kids. For anyone over 16 it's a waste of time. I remember the scene of them peeing together and that is enough to not recommend it to anyone except children who are still fascinated with their number ones.
