Pacino looked Middle Eastern/Greek in this. Not Puerto Rican at all

He has the middle eastern or Greek thing going on. Maybe even Pakistaní.

So I don’t really we him as a Puerto Rican wise guy. His accent is like a New Yorker.. ie Italian American.

He doesn’t sound like a Spanish speaker that’s for sure.

I dare say he was miscast. (What!?!?!?)

Actually, they should have written him in as an Italian American. No real need for him to be Puerto Rican at all.

reply

LMAO now that you say it he did

reply

Greek? Maybe. Middle Eastern? Umm No. Pakistani? Are you on crack?

He looked like Al Pacino with a beard.

reply

My paki friend said he looks European but could pass as a Paki with a beard.

reply

I grew up surrounded by people who you refer to as "pakis" and none of them look like Italians with beards.

reply

He looked Italian. He always looks Italian.

reply

You do know that the Italians are a mix of middle eastern blood from having been conquered?

reply

I half knew that. It's ancient history.

reply

I mean idk if “miscast” is the right word. Does the nationality of the actor really matter that much to say Pacino was miscast?

reply

Yes. Pacino can only play Italian gangsters not Puerto Rican.

reply

Why not?

reply

Because he is the epitome of italian-american.

reply

But there are tons of movies with actors who aren’t the same nationality as their part. Would you say all of them are miscast?

reply

He could pass as Puerto Rican. Lot’s of Puerto Ricans look like him. I have an uncle that reminds me of him.

reply

Photo link please.

reply

Lol. I am not going to post personal information on this message board.

Anyhow, there are lot’s of European looking Puerto Ricans.

If you are interested, search these names.

Ruben Berríos
Carlos Romero Barceló
Natalia Rivera
Raymond Arrieta
Dagmar Rivera
Denise Quiñones

reply

Literally all of them looked latino. European my ass.

reply

Lol. No they don’t. Heck, some look even more European than Al Pacino.

reply

Pacino can pass for Latino. Just because you don't think so doesn't make it true.

reply

He could pass as Argentinian latino as they are mostly of Italian background.

reply

Argentinian Latino? Didn't know there was such a thing.

I don't consider Argentinian people to be "Latino." I don't think they consider themselves Latino either.

reply

They are Latino, just generally not Hispanic

reply

He had a bad accent, other than that he was fine. They even joked about this in the movie "first time I met him, thought he was italian".

reply

Which was just lame.

reply

Just a bit. Not too much.
