Hemingway wrote, "The world is a fine place and worth fighting for." I agree with the second part.

This is actually a funny movie, not to mention you get a chance to see Charlie Murphy back in the day before Chappelle's Show.

i disagree with jinsell, im not a big fan of gangsta rap, i like some NWA, but I love this movie

That's true, and there isn't a better comparison. Nelson George penned the script to this, and he's a hip hop journalist who's always been critical of gangsta rap. This movie is precisely a hip hop version of Spinal Tap, and, great at that.

It was a group of comedians and actors in their early careers of course it's going to have it's flaws. Take Half Baked for example with out the early kind of fumbly films there would be no Chapelle Show or Everybody Hates Chris.
