Am I the only one who noticed this?

Now, I don't wanna anger the hard core Blood In Blood Out Miklo fans here but..is it me? or at the very end of the movie, after he's done telling the other Onda members they're going to be transferred to their home states and to "spread the Onda gospel, Billy Graham Style" when he is speaking to Magic Mike, he said something like "you will stay right here with me, you're the leg I don't have, the other half of mi corazon" and then the way Miklo and Magic looked at each other, and talked to each other...it seemed kind of gay to me. It was definitely hard-core prison bromance, but it did have a hint of gayness in it, that's what I think.

Now before any of you out there insult me, just remember that homosexuality is common in American prisons and perhaps this was the film maker's very subtle way of showing it. Also remember that Miklo is never showed having a girlfriend or even showing interest in a female throughout the film, even before he gets locked up. All he ever cares about is "fitting in with the boys".

Any feed back on this would be greatly appreciated. Am I the only one who is picking this up from the film?

you're not the only one

though I noticed it more from Magic, especially when he said "simon' " to Mikklo

weird lustful look on his face...

ironic because in their first words to each other in prison.....Magic told him to "GTFO before I make you my bi tch!"

definitely homo undertones in that final scene between Magic and Mikklo.

That whole ending seem kinda gay.

LMAO...that's right I saw that weird lustful look on Magic's face as well!
You're right 249, Magic WAS the first Onda member to say something gay to Miklo even though Popeye was the first one to meet him..LOL. I'm glad other people see the gayness of the end of this movie. I think the "bromance" border gets crossed a little bit and it wanders into homo territory.

reply

I don't took it being gay. I think it shows Magic's total loyalty towards Miklo. Respect and a strong friendship. Remember how Miklo was shunned at and disrespected in the beginning of the movie. Talk about "have nothing and get everything"

*sigh*
Having to find gay innuendos into everything today.
It was a look of utter respect and devotion, that's it.

Damn you guys are annoying, trying to homoeroticize everything.

reply

Exactly! Great post Mr. Odd, you nailed it.

You have weird fantasies.

The only weird thing is you specifying American prisons, lol. Yes this took place in an American prison, but temporary homosexuality runs rampant in every prison regardless of location.

Prison people have some of the craziest and there are plenty of mentally challenged ones as well. If you went to prison, you've pretty much had your turd pushed in at one point or another. Avoidance is pretty much impossible if you want to survive. That's why I don't have any respect for street gangs since they become members of prison gangs. All just a bunch of buttbangin' *beep* of people.

You've watched too many prison movies. Contrary to popular belief most people who have gone to prison have not been raped.
