Will real Mexican prison gangs accept a half-white leader?

Watching how Miklo takes control of La Onda and one of the members even goes as far as saying to him "I'd die for you!" Considering real prison gangs such as Mexican Mafia and Nuestra Familia would have never even accepted Miklo in the beginning since he has white blood in him.

In real life Joe "Pegleg" Morgan was the co-founder of the Mexican Mafia and he didn't have any Mexican ancestry.

Miklo was loosely based on Joe "Pegleg" Morgan. In the movie American Me the character JD is also based on Joe. The Mexican Mafia has been know to take in whites and Asians. Mike Kudo, a Japanese-American was an early member of the Mexican Mafia.

The previous poster above me is correct, and It's true for both sides The NF has white members, even though both organizations utilize Racial imagery its mostly to form a specific identity but both organizations are all about money. The only 2 major prison gangs that don't allow people of different color is The BGF which is more political oriented (although they also put in work) and the Aryan Brotherhood, which is actually less politically minded then you would think, and is actually more of a Criminal Organization (The White Power Imagery is again just to form a Identity for some members, and although s lot are Racist, the group is more concerned with making money then its political endeavors, and have been known to do dealings with The Mexican Mafia)

People with Hispanic heritage are considered "white" as a race. Being Mexican isn't a race, it's a ethnicity. I'm half, like the guy in the film. My dad is American, of Irish decent and my mother is from Mexico. I grew up speaking English with Spanish mixed in. There are a lot of half breeds, as they like calling us in prison gangs.

Not really though.

Most Americans and most researchers have in mind a general categorical scheme that includes whites, blacks, Asians, Hispanics, and American Indians. Most Americans and nearly all researchers are also aware that these general categories disguise significant heterogeneity within each of these major groups. To the extent possible, recent research has attempted to identify and compare subgroups within each of the major racial and ethnic groups, making distinctions by country of origin, nativity, and generation within the United States. Most researchers generally agree that these categories are primarily social constructions that have changed and will continue to change over time.

...would the Yakuzas ever accept "a Chinese Jap-American half-breed bitch its leader"? Well, it's nothing to lose your head over.

That's VERY different. In Japan, 95% of the population is 100% Japanese. In the American continent, 95% of the population is a total mix. Even Native American are quite mixed now.

Please excuse my terrible redaction, english is not my native language

Guess someone didn't watch Kill Bill :)

the answer to your question is yes.
think of blacks. you probably know some black person who has one black parent and one white. chances are that person looks a little more black than white.
say halle berry for instance (not a good example for leading a prison gang, but if she does I'll commit a crime).
she's black for all intensive purposes.
even lighter skinned, she is still considered black. it is the same for Hispanics. yes the character was particularly light, but still in the realm of believeabilty.

Many Mexicans already have White blood in the from Spain.

A lot of Mexicans are Mestizos, meaning they're mixed European & Native American.

Yes, I'm Irish-Australian and lived in a latino neighbourhood in los Angeles and was considered latino by the american latinos because I spoke fluent spanish (thanks to living in south america).

If you vibe with them and speak their language they don't care how brown you are.
