This is utter trash with only one good performance, that of John Goodman.

I don't think it's utther trash. I think it was a nice, enjoyable film, I don't particularly care for Melanie Griffith, and especially Don Johnson. Of course, I haven't seen the original (actually, I didn't know it was a remake until I got here), which is probably what made the difference for negative reviews. By itself, I think the movie is quite good. When I see the original, I may change my mind. Who knows?

Back in the day this movie came out on vhs I didn't know this was a remake until about ten years ago. I think both original and remake are good in their own right.

I really like John Goodman's characters but in this movie it made me hate him, meaning he's a good actor.

Also, that "Bill of Rights/12 days of Christmas" song was cool too.
