The handcuffs scene....

The handcuffs/rough sex scene in this movie always bothered me.

So, Frank willingly becomes Rebecca’s sex slave. Rebecca is single, Frank is married. And yet, when Frank’s wife finds out that Frank has been having an affair, what does he do? Blame himself, as he should? No. For some reason, he blames Rebecca. Instead of thanking her for giving him the best sex of his life, he handcuffs her, and a$$ rapes her.

We are (I’m pretty sure) supposed to feel sympathy for Dafoe’s character, and castigate Madonna’s. Why? Because she’s a “femme fatale”, and therefore, she deserves to be raped? imo, Frank is an adulterous rapist. Rebecca is just a sexy minx who manipulated an idiot.

If I was Frank I’d let Rebecca put those cuffs on me and thank my lucky stars, lol.
