Is this dead dad real people or pod people?

Others say pod people but I thought pod people bleed green, as it was shown when the toxic melt that un-named army guy, and the dad bleeded red at the end.

Yes... you clearly see the guy's head start to crumble like the other pod people after about 15 seconds or so. But I'm wondering if maybe the version he saw had that part cut.

Just watched this movie now(in 2017) and i thought he was human when i watched the scene but i wasn't sure. It didn't make sense for him to hell them the trick with the emotions or to drive them away from the pod dudes otherwise.

And don't real people melt too if there are pods nearby or something? I assumed some pods nearby took his body's energy or whatever.

Tt would be such a wasted opportunity if he was indeed just a pod person.
