I was only able to see bits and pieces of this movie on Youtube and I didn't get the full story so if someone could answer my questions I would appreciate it.
First, What was up with the inbred family? Why did they kill the two guys and what did they have to do with the evil pills?
Second, When the pregnant chick died and her placenta killed your husband what happened to the baby? I remember a long shot of the girl's ripped-open stomach and it looked empty to me.
The inbred family may have just been another joke/satire of stereotypical "country folk". The dad was the second scientist in the black and white photo (the first scientist was the doctor helping with the testing of the drug). As far as killing the 2 guys, the first one was somewhat unintentional, as the man-woman killed the guy out of lust. Needless to say, they had to kill the other one so there would be no witnesses.
I just finished watching BODY MELT, and I just figured that the placenta ate the fetus. When the placenta attacked the husband, it went into his mouth and into his stomach (as the cops took him away alive). As far as the wife goes, I guess she just had a bad case of gas.
The whole thing is a deliberate b grade satire of not just the 90's health kick but Aussie soap operas such as neighbours.
As an Aussie I am able to appreciate the cast gags but also the odd reference to films such as mad max
