ANY THOUGHTS ON SID?

When I first saw this film I believed in Sid's idealistic notions of a pre-ordained and all consuming love. Now that I'm older, I've rewatched the film and think he is totally niave and unrealistic. Have I just become more jaded with age or are there others out there who think Sid was being silly in his quest for a monumental relationship with Beth?

We'll see who's the filthiest person alive! We'll just see!

Nope, if anything you've become unjaded with age.

It was the weed talking. That hippie...

I don't think it was the weed talking. I think Sid was a very easygoing local boy who knew what he wanted when it came along, and he wasn't going to let it slip through his fingers so easily. I could see Sid and Beth being very happy together, if only Beth would let her guard down.

reply

Yeah, kind of silly.
