songs - The Flying Burrito Brothers

watching the movie on Instant Watch (Netflix)...only about 20 minutes in and already 2 Flying Burrito Brothers tunes (Juanita and Hot Burrito #1), something that would not have jumped out at me when I first saw this 16 or 17 years ago...GramParsons died in the Arizona desert (OD)...anybody find any significance to the movie? Anybody here know who Gram Parsons and The Flying Burrito Brothers were? Wish more people were aware of them. Noticed them showing up on shows more often; one of their songs was in the season 1 finale of True Blood.

But I'm more concerned with my first question: anybody see significance in these songs being in this movie?

Of course I know about Gram and the Flying Burrito Brothers. We're not all 17 on this site, after all. ;-)

I don't think Gram's death in the desert has a lot of significance to the songs in the film, but the Burrito Brothers made great "road" music, and this film definitely has a wandering feel. It feel more like an early '70s movie, so the soundtrack fits perfectly, in my opinion.

Ha ha, I was half joking, IIRC, when I typed that...wish there was a little more retro love shown to GP, and the Burritos.
