Not that I'm complaining, since I'm a major slash fan, but what was the deal with the SUPREMELY OBVIOUS shonen-ai undertone (hell, OVERtone) between Fiore and Darien? I mean, Jesus Christ, outside an actual yaoi manga/anime (and Supernatural, lol), I've never seen such tension! I wonder why the writers decided to do something so...um, I guess kind of controversial? I know Japanese culture is a lot less effing uptight about so-called "alternative lifestyles" than American culture, but it's just kind of a random decision. It's never hinted at in the manga series, and while Uranus and Neptune are lesbians (turned cousins for US TV, ugh), there's never any weirdo vibes between any of the other girls...

Just curious. Ideas? Fangirling squees?
