Where is the Clampett Estate located?

Is this a real estate? Looked rather elaborate and realistic to be another studio backlot or soundstage.

I was wondering that also. That is a beautiful estate on the outside and inside for that matter. I looked up on Google maps where the address that Miss Jane gave on her cell phone when the family arrives at the Estate. The real address of the house on the edge of some canyon in Beverly Hills but looks nothing like the movie house.

The house is the same house they used for the show. it is located in Bel Air and it looks like something Queen Elizabeth would want to own.

1284 South Oakland Avenue. (For whatever reason, the address was changed to 1288 South Oakland Avenue in 1989.)

It looks different because they had to rebuild

Did you see the Fresh Prince house as the Clampetts meet the Dreysdale's in the road???

Oh Thank you God! Thank you so BLOODY much!Basil Fawlty

As I understand it, this is a private residence so the interior is probably a sound stage or set. I would seriously like to be invited inside the real mansion (for dinner perhaps) as I have never been in one before.

I've read that the house isn't the same one as the old tv show. Yes, that one has been altered by its owner so it doesn't look anything like it used to look and that's why they didn't use that house for the movie.

Also, they didn't just use ONE mansion. If you look the house(s) don't seem to have any one cohesive style to it/them that's because for different scenes they filmed in different mansions to give a very over the top feel.

BTW, where did Elly get an orangutan? I know she loved critters but really, did one just wander by? You'd think they'd have mentioned that and you know they didn't bring it with them from the hills.

I can't believe the driveway was gravel. For 22 million you would have thought it would be paved.

mrham 1 Your question reminds me of something that happened in my distant past.

I was working in a mental hospital that had just installed telephones for the patients to use. One day I was walking past one of those phones when I heard one of the patients raising hell with the operator. He was upset that she was not able to connect him with Jed Clampett in Beverly Hills. I just smiled and walked on. Had I interfered with his phone call I would have been fired for violating his rights.

I felt sorry for the operator but there was nothing I could do.
