They are from arkansaw i think only about 75% sure on that one
In the 60's TV show they are from TN. although for some reason people like to argue they were from Arkansas. That Arkansas BS didn't surface until THIS movie came about.

In the TV series they were from Tennessee. In this movie, they're from Arkansas.
shareGranny was from Tennessee in the TV series, but the Clampetts were from somewhere in the Ozarks, either Arkansas or Missouri. The Ozark towns of Eureka Springs and Oxford in Arkansas (Oxford was of course the beginning location for the movie) and Joplin, Branson (Silver Dollar City) and Springfield in Missouri were all mentioned in the TV series.
shareNeither the movie nor the TV series specifically stated the original home of the Clampetts (Jed and Elly May) - but geographic references in the television series have led many to conclude they came from Missouri. Arkansas has also been mentioned as a possibility.
In the original television series, Granny stated multiple times that she was from Tennessee.
The movie indicates Jethro and his mother Pearl are from Oxford, Arkansas; if I recall the TV series correctly, however, Pearl (and presumably her son) lived in the town of Bugtussle - state unknown.
Actually they state pretty clearly in the movie they're from Arkansas.
