In showing your friends/family this movie...

Did they like it? Did you try showing it to someone who you were sure was going to find fault with it? Why do I ask?

I was certain my bff was going to bring up things like, they fell in love too quickly, would they really let her live in her own apartment, you know, like is this logical to happen this way kind of things. But she didn't; she came up with about a thousand other things, mostly questions throughout the movie: Why is she wearing a helmet? Why does she light things on fire? Why is he doing the dancing breadsticks? Why is he obsessed with old movies? What does she have? What does he have? Aren't they both supposed to be retarded? Are you sure he only has dyslexia? Are you only saying that because you like him?

The only character she ended up liking was Benny; she thought Sam was likable but annoying, she hated Joon, and she thought Ruthie was a bitch.

Fortunately I haven't been bothered by her reaction like I usually am--I guess I like this movie too much, but I'd still expected her to like it a little more than she did.

So how 'bout you? Do you know people who just didn't get it the way you did?

One of my friends just showed this movie to me and I loved it... Your friend seems to be a little insensitive. Sam and Joon's relationship was so pure and beautiful.

Eh, what can you do? Not everyone's taste.

But you're a recent fan, too? I only just saw it for the first time last week when it showed up on hulu. I love it! Yeah, Sam & Joon have to be one of my favorite movie couples.

My best friend showed me it and I love it.
We tend to discuss things after the movie rather than through it because we both hate missing things.

Me and my mom watched it for the first time about 3 months ago.

i liked it she didnt.

haha my friends would not appreciate this movie like i do and most likely have the same reaction your friend did.i dont even bother showing them the movie cause they would just end up pissing me off. I apparently have the bad taste in films, cause i watch all the boring movies instead of all the brainless humor made with -Cough- will ferrel -cough- in it. or some other idiot in it. My family watched it though and loved it! Every single time Johnny/sam came on the screen we were all laughing!

a fun movie! a couple co-wokers watched it. they didn't get it. they also work at a bank!

i aparently have a wierd taste in films, but everyone ive shown this to has absolutely loved it! especially my mum, and she had been annoyed recently with how many id been trying to show her. but she loved it and would watch it again!

and sams not annoying. i could understand why hed be annoying for some to live with, but not me :)

Yeah Sam is awesome!
My mom saw it when it was in the theaters and she didn't like it then.
I showed it to my sister and she thought it was okay.

I was 8 when it came out in the theaters. It would be awesome to see it on the BIG screen.
My sister thought it was good, but not great.
