Good movie

I recently found this on Blu-ray as a double-feature with The Night Listener. Benefit of the Doubt has 90s written all over it, especially the score, but it is engaging and well-made. Donald Sutherland is good in anything, and he proves it again here. He has a real tightrope to walk, particularly in the first half, and he carries it off well. The story is cliched, but a good cliche is a good cliche. Benefit of the Doubt is no great shakes, but it’s not a bad way to spend 90 minutes.
