With a film this great it is sad that Yu
Turned out such horrible crap as he did last year with Freddy Vs. jason. I find it sad when artists whore them selves out.

Ronnie Yu took two series, both of which had sub par everything for years, and turned out a good movie. Sure, I am a fan of both series, but Ronnie Yu did the whole movie with the fans in mind. For that, I respect him.
And if you're going to slam him, freakin' do it for The Bride of Chucky.
I'm sorry but what you are saying is very stupid. "Whore himself out"? What does this mean? Have you ever taken into consideration he may have wanted to make Freddy vs Jason or Bride of Chucky? Why should director's only make the type of movie's they have made in the past instead of making new kinds of movies in different genres. Had Yu not made FvJ and his other two American movies I probably would have never heard about him. In closing once again I am gonna say that you have a stupid opinion.

What exactly did you expect out of a movie combo based on the Nightmare on Elm ST. and Friday the 13th series? Disney? Come on you can't honestly tell me you were expecting enlightening feminist cinema did you? The franchises prided themselves on thier obnoxiousness and that is ultimately what the combo did and was ment to bring to the table. Ronnie Yu did a great job with not only FvJ but Bride of Chucky as well. He had a fun fresh take on all three of the series.

Nightmare on Elm street the orginal(new nightmare as well)was not Misogyst. It has been a long time since I saw the orginal F13, Jason goes to hell i saw recently and was not that bad.. Basically I expected some of that *beep*. but it was really really bad. It made it unwatchable. Really if you compare it to the orginal nightmare and the orginal f13 it is not that unbelievable. I ave not watched the much of the further films with either killer.

Gimme a break. You can't even spell the word you're trying to use to criticize this film (it's misogynist, by the way). And of COURSE the film is misogynist, the entire basis of the slasher genre is predicated in the psychosexual hunt of the killer on the female protagonist--it's meant to be that way. Freddy Vs. Jason took that to a new level with two killers, and threw in enough horror cliches to keep the fans (myself included) happy.
You call yourself "flim geek" but you haven't seen hardly any of the films you're trying to base your argument on. That's weak and hazardous. Stop being so pretentious and see the movies before you comment.

shareYeah, you can't really say a movie sucks if you left before it was over...sorry. And geeks DO see every movie in a franchise before making judgment calls, that's why it's called geeking out to know a bunch of random trivia/plot about each movie in the series.
