who the hell submitted to imdb that Baazigar is a remake of AKBD?

Honestly, the movies are so different. The only similarity is that the hero dates the heroine, kills her, and moves on to her sister. However, the motives are entirely differnt, beyond that there is no similarity, and KBD was a piece of crap that doesn't even deserve to be remembered.

Well Abbas Mastan did copy parts of AKBD in two movies: Baazigar and Daraar. Though the rest of Daraar was a ripoff from Sleeping with the Enemy. Baazigar is a loose remake of AKBD but I thought Baazigar is a better movie (except the bollywoodized ending completely ruined it!

How was the ending Bollywoodized? I thought it was a unique ending: most bollywood films have the hero live happily ever after.

he means the overacting by SRK ,

that could have been a bbit more subtle

This is YOUR LIFE and it is ending one minute at a time!

No, I don't mean the overacting or the fact that his character dies. It's the way he dies and kills his enemy that spoils it. The dishum dishum does not help.

Uh, it was listed as a remake because it is a remake.

Not all remakes have the same titles and characters (Poseidon is the first example that comes to mind).

All you can see in the similarities is the anti-hero kills the heroine and moves on to her sister? That's it? Wow. You must have had a hard time figuring out where the inspiration for West Side Story came from.

The scene at the top of the building was a definate homage to both the original film and the 90s version. When you say KBD is a "piece of crap" I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're referring to the 90s version. It's not the only other one out there, you know.

Also the scene where Ajay/Vicky is found out by his childhood friend who exposes his masquerade to Priya; same confrontation happens between Matt Dillon in AKBD.

Boy, somebody is REALLY upset over having their over-rated Black and white Hollywood movies trashed on these boards right? Lady JUST because you seem to derive great entertainment value from these old movies which stilted acting performances and predictable plots doesn't mean that they're actually any good alright?

"I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're referring to the 90s version. It's not the only other one out there, you know."

Boy oh boy, You've REALLY lost all credibility on this count - so in YOUR esteemed opinion you prefer the stiff, unconvincing Robert Wagner and the miscast Jeffrey Hunter as being better than Matt Dillon who gave a master-class of a performance in the remake? Dear, the remake is the ONLY well known version in India - and the primary reason it was even considered to be redone Bollywood-style was because of Dillon's performance - which would have been a dream role for a young up-and-comer. Oh, and Shahrukh Khan run circles around both lead actors from the original movie in the acting department, OK?

You sir, are a class one moron if you say : " The only similarity is that the hero dates the heroine, kills her, and moves on to her sister"

I can say the only difference is the " motivation " of the character and rest of it is copied.
