Was Cheng Dieyi gay?

I tend to find "gay" to be a simplistic term for Dieyi's sexuality. I think Master Yuan sums things up nicely when he talks about the Buddha statue being both sexes. In that way, he is summing up how he sees Dieyi, and by extension how others (and the audience), might experience Dieyi. Many cultures in Asia, Thailand imparticular, recognize a third sex beyond male and female. Sexuality in non-Western society is very different. Westerners tend to think in black and white categories such as "gay" or "straight", but Asians tend to think in grey.
