Did this go straight to video?

Yes or no? I enjoyed this movie very much. I'd seen it on TV several times during the mid 90's and assumed it must be fairly popular, but seeing that it only has a few hundred votes on here and now I know Lundgren is best known for DTV stuff I'm wondering.

Yes it did go straight to video. In fact there are a lot of Dolph Lundgren movies that went straight to video. Thats bassically how he still gets work these days.

It was really released theatrically first. How can I know it? Because I saw it in there :-). It was in Czech Republic around year 1994 in center of Prague with great czech dubbing and nice posters in front of cinema :-). It´s kinda guilty pleasure for me since this screening. I like to remember it, it´s pitty there is no quality DVD of it.

For fans like me - in our country, it is called "Time of Revenge" in translation and it apears every year on TV.

That is really cool. Dolph a big star all over Europe?

It was released theatrically worldwide... except in the U.S. (premiered on HBO and then VHS / laserdisc), Germany (VHS) and United Kingdom (VHS).

I've seen it two or three times on the big screen in France in August 1993.

It was not a big release though (and seems to have flopped pretty much everywhere because it didn't have the necessary advertising behind it), it's an indie production and didn't care since they had made they money back with pre-sales. It was right after UNIVERSAL SOLDIER so they could have push it more...
