Rosie made the movie awful, she cant act. The dog did a better job than she did

Rosie's performance didn't bother me at all. It was great how Dreyfuss and Estevez played off her. Those two make this movie great! It's just a HUGE pity that Madeleine Stowe isn't in it much...

reply

Madeleine Stowe didn't want to be in the sequel. I've heard Dreyfuss begged, and she agreed to do the tiny scene at the end. Notice she didn't even want to be credited in the film.

This.

Rosie is nowhere near as bad as everyone makes her out to be and was quite funny in parts though I thought Dreyfuss was funnier. She still has good chemistry with Dreyfuss though.

Totally agree that it needed more Stowe though.

It was entertaining and Rosie had good chemistry with everyone. She didn't make the movie but she didn't ruin it either. She was supposed to be the comic foil and Dreyfuss & Estevez spend most of the time insulting her, so what do Rosie haters want anyway.

I don't get why the rating is so low. There are cable movies in here with higher ratings. No it's not comedy gold, but it doesn't suck either. My fave scene was the one with the guy who brings Rosie home after she chased her dog, Dreyfuss was very funny in that one.

Rosie O'Donnel ruined this movie. Without her, this movie had good potential.

Honestly, to anyone questioning the quality of this movie: go jump up you own *beep* a**.

I swear to God that I share a birthday with John Badham...August 25th...Thats what he's been up too...I know we all joke and stuff but Im being completely serious...I always knew that August 25th was the birthday of

1930 Sir Sean Connery (actor)

1938 Frederick Forsyth (author)

1949 Gene Simmons (musician - KISS)

1954 Elvis Costello (singer)

1958 Tim Burton (film maker)

1964 Blair Underwood (actor)

1970 Claudia Schiffer (model)

BUT where is *beep* omitted...AND Rob Halford of Judas Priest.....Why omit?...Badham never gets his just "due"

And Lauren...This is 110 percent "true"...I dont need proof!!

What the HECK!

I swear to God if I was him I would not make them beg me to do AS3...I would just relax and do Jack Bull 2!...What the *beep* has Cusack done lately anyways!

i was wondering if this didn't keep the same standard at all, couse it never aired after the first one had. usually, or often, sequals gets shown after the original, but this never aired. so i haven't seen this yet.

on the slum side of the city street,
smoke stains in the cealing,
on the other side, there are full of codes and new buildings,
the always upcoming stricter rules,
but we live by the old rule book,
got some old junk gathered here at the slum side,
still comes to get an offer every once in a while,
as i look beyond, more changes at other places i used to stay,
well what did i expect, that everything would look the same,
though here everything is like before,
except maybe a new crack, a new leaning or so,
where delievery is last, if it even reach,
on the slum side of the city street.

I liked it as well as the first, and I thought Rosie was great in this.

Agreed, but I've got to say that after having seen this sequel a few times, I've warmed up to it more and more. Dreyfuss and Estevez easily stepped back into their characters after 6 years, O'Donnell was actually pretty good and delivered a fairly convincing performance, and I really liked Farina and Strassman's portrayal of the married couple sheltering Moriarty. This movie has quite a few funny moments that I didn't appreciate the first time I saw it.

I really need to sit down and watch the first one again. I've seen the sequel easily a dozen times but I barely remember the first one (probably because I was so young when I saw it in the theater).

Another Stakeout, between cable and vhs, I've seen considerably more often.

Just my one cent since I can't afford two.

In fairness to you, the 80s is filled with buddy-cop movies, of which I think 'Stakeout' is a standout. It would probably make my Top 5 80s buddy films, but there are so many, I can see how someone could overlook it. And it doesn't have the iconic status or star power of movies like 48 Hrs or Lethal Weapon, so I think that's another reason why it gets overlooked.

The first one is much better... by a mile.. better any day of the week and twice on sunday.
