The timeline might of been 1979-1980 before everybody knew about the virus. A man and his sick male lover who is already started showing signs of the symptoms of AIDS. I think he might of died due to complications of the virus in 1980-1981 before the news and CDC gave the virus a name and made it know. In 1981 they were calling it gay cancer, because gay men were getting hit with it the most in their community. It to bad they didn't try to make this movie into a miniseries after the release of the movie hit theaters in 1993. So many stuff written in the books they could of added to the miniseries.
