This movie should be 2.35:1 widescreen, not 1.85:1

Aside from the lackluster acting, I really wish they had used a wider aspect ratio when filming.

The mountain landscape and tracking shots are excellent but they are held back with 1.85. To me, it looked cropped down through most of the film, to the point where I had to look up if the negative was different.

There were also many dialogue scenes where people talking/listening weren't in frame but could easily have been.

On a technical level I think it's one of the film's biggest flaws. The epic scope of the movie deserved a wider picture.
