Peter MacNicol and Christine Baranski were brilliant

They did a delicious parody of the cheery camp counselors whose excited composure belies a necessity to administer control. How smart to have the ones propagating a negative disposition be the victims while Gary Granger and Becky Martin-Granger (the names!), the counselors, are the villains. When they had Pugsley, Wednesday and Joel brainwashed with films from Walt Disney Studios, the entire public at my screening erupted in laughter.

They really were a formidable pair. It's got to be an enviable position when you get a role whose every scene and line is laugh-out-loud hilarious. And it never, ever gets old for me. Like how Gary whips a guitar out of thin air for Kumbaya, and Becky wearing her hair in kiddy pigtails and passive aggressively threatening people. They're comedy gold.

The scene where they force Wednesday, Pugsley and Joel to watch cheery Disney movies was so funny! It was such torture for the children.

It reminded me of a similar incident at Disney World where I felt "tortured". Years ago I went there with a boyfriend. We were on the "It's a Small World" ride and after what seemed like a hundred choruses of that sickly sweet song I wanted to run screaming from the place! LOL You can only stand so much cheeriness.
