ok....all apologies , but i havent watched "12;01" yet , but i have been trying to decice if it is good enough to watch....Here's the problem , and the headline ....now after reading a lil , i cant figure out why the "hero" didnt take one more loop and rob a bank, hide the money ...??? something like that ....the whole time i am watching , i will be thinkin about this ...

... rob a bank??? He is the good guy. His only interest is to save the life of a woman he fell in love with and to end the time loop. That’s what this film is all about.
shareTrue. But I would do this: memorise the sports results all day long, and loop just one more day- then on the day I saves myself I place an accumulator bet on the whole days sports results. The odds on such a ridiculous bet would be hundreds of thousands to one, and I would have nothing to lose by betting every dollar I have- lets say $1000 at 250,000 to 1.
Before I released myself in this way, I would study literature, martial arts, fencing, languages, Science and code programming for a couple of hundred years, write a few symphonies etc. Might as well turn it to my advantage.
Then I break the loop, and wake up on Wednesday morning with my freedom, the most educated mind on Earth, the girl, and $250 million dollars.

Hahaha yeah good point. It doesn't work like that especially not in "movie logic".
After a few years or decades you would basically forget about the girl and would have probably slept with thousands of other women in the meantime.
