Wonder do the writers have a kidnap Alex fetish?

Seems like she is always kidnap or held hostage. I think I lost count on how many times she gets kidnap then yells "Walker!" when she sees him. She knows being a lawyer or Walker's girlfriend would lead her into danger, but she never learns her lesson to watch her back. The writers kept going through that same story line about 'Have Alex get kidnap or held hostage so Walker can go save her with full force.' Reminds me of Mario saving Princess Peach from Bowser every single level or stage.

There have been situations where she fought back but the kidnapper overpowered her so she does know how to watch her back. Walker was her knight. I wasn't even that affected when she got shot in that weeding episode because we were so used to seeing her get hurt. I was more affected when Trivette got shot by the cop killer, better character anyway.

Kind of like Miss Kitty on Gunsmoke, they go after her cause everyone knows she is Matt's girl. I love both shows though, good entertainment.

The same story could sell over and over during the 1960's but it too much for a non-comedy that takes place during the 1990's. Cahill needs a security team around the clock and she never had one that I saw.

Reminds me of the "Hart To Hart" TV series and how some bad guy is always wanting Jennifer for himself and, of course, kidnaps her. That story line gets to be a bit much after a while.

I was thinking about it a few nights ago. I realized that Alex Cahill had more enemies than Walker. In every season there would be someone putting out a hit contract on her for sending them to jail or something like that. But hell it made for fun episodes.

I have a headcanon for that: at some point Walker gets a phone call.
“Ranger Walker, we have your wife...”
“Let me guess- if I don’t hand over the evidence or the witness you’ll kill her.”
“Uh, yes”
“Go ahead”
“WTF????”
“I’m sick and tired of her getting kidnapped! And for some reason she only tries cases that rest completely on the testimony of ONE witness!”

Just had the Edward Albert (Eddie's son) episode on this afternoon on H & I. A little over the top and I think the script supervisor was on vacation that week. Several people taken hostage and the kidnapper only wants 100,000 dollars? He has to pay off the crooked cop and his henchman so that leaves him with 10,000 dollars? Does he knock over a 7-11 for 50 dollars for his next crime? I did not get the part where some other low life's pickup the ransom money then plead ignorance. They did not think that they would get pinched for interfering in a police investigation? And despite the standard threat of no cops or they will die Walker is under a minute away from the drop point? At the rescue it should be obvious mud is rushing in from the front of the bus to Walker. That point should be where the least amount of mud needs to be removed but Walker works from the back where it is the driest and deepest? I like the show in general but it is campy in a bad way unlike the 1960's Batman television show. As to the OP if I were Alex I would have retired or moved away after the first kidnapping.

I think there was only like 2 or 3 episodes where she was kidnapped

reply

Guess you haven't watched the entire show it was way more times than that.

reply

I watched I think like 4 episodes and she was only kidnapped in 2 or 3 of the episodes

reply

Again, it was way more than that.
