The show that changed my life forever!

I'm not kidding. When this show premiered in 1993, I was just turning 13-years-old, the puberty years laid ahead. From the theme song to the drive-by shootings, this show really got to me. Now that I'm much older, 23 to be exact, I still think about the show alot.

I can remember every episode (so if anyone has any questions), all the actors, all the drama, and even some of the dialogue. Basically I was ridiculously obsessed with this show. There was even a chance to visit the set through sweepstakes, which I really, REALLY wanted to do, but had no idea how! Anyway, because of this show I became equally obsessed with the past (20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, etc.) so much so that for the next three years I listened to nothing but Oldies music! My mother said that I must be an old man trapped in a young man's body.

Indeed, I thought so, too. Still, to this day, I wish I could go back in time to visit that era - just as I did when I was 13. I used to write essays and short stories about time traveling so that I may visit the 30s (in my head, of course). And everytime I see an actor from this show on something else, like John Rhys-Davies in Lord of the Rings or Indiana Jones, I always cry out: "It's Malone"!

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I LOVE this show and want copies of the episodes! If anyone can help me, I'd be glad to pay them. Well, that's the end of my story. Thanks for listening.

Heh, same here fella. I'm obsessed with stuff from the 1920's and 1930's. It seems like the most amazing and glamorous era in the United States. The music, people, fashion, everything. Hell, I even have an almanac from 1933. Watching Once Upon A Time in America rekindled my love for that time. I also see you did the "write a bunch of science fiction/time travel stories" thing :)

As for getting a copy of The Untouchables, good luck! The most you'll be able to find are so-and-so quality VHS tapes of the series, and even those are rare. I'm hoping that Paramount, after trying to earn some money by releasing TV shows on DVD, will follow up with The Untouchables, but it does not seem likely.

i was in elementry school when this show came on
i liked this show
i thought to myself ; the story line is rather interesting
my favorite episode out of all of them was the pilot
and i just love prohibition era stories
heck, watching miller's crossing so many times rekindles my liking for this time period
i think the most brilliant episode in the entire untouchables series
is the pilot ,because the agents see capone for the first time

now, on to the second part of this discussion
jabberdan on a another unotouchables message board
sent a email to the guy who plays elliot ness
and you can believe this or not
but he said that he got a reponse from him
and he confirmed that there hadn't been a VHS or a DVD release of the untouchables two seasons and the advice that jabberdan gave was to write to paramount as listed on their webpage
and state to them "how come that the untouchables isn't out either on vhs or on dvd yet"

i find it a bit odd , but if that doesn't work
you could try the method that i tried
write an email to a cable tv station [for example ; spike tv]
asking them to air the original two seasons of the untouchables

Yeah, we definitely need a DVD box set of this series.

For crying out loud, Paramount just released the first season of "MacGyver" as a DVD set! Surely "The Untouchables" deserves the same respect.

Everybody should write to Paramount and let them know why "The Untouchables" deserves to be released as a DVD box set:

Paramount Home Entertainment
5555 Melrose Avenue
Hollywood, CA 90038

I'm going to write there this week. Maybe we should get a running list of names with e-mail addresses or something. That way we can prove to paramount that there is significant interest. Actually there is a site called www.tvshowsondvd.com where people can register for free and ask that shows come out on DVD. It would keep track of that stuff for us. Maybe we can make an effort to point people there and request the show come out and then in writing to Paramount at some point (again) send them to the site to see the growing interests for themselves. Just a few thoughts on how to make some noise - tommy gun fire.
