Edited? Unedited?

Can someone clarify the following for me--British edition aside--it's the VHS Tales of the City release that was released unedited, but the DVD releases were edited for language, etc.?

If that is the case I can purchase a used set Tales on VHS and the More Tales and Further Tales on DVD. But were the DVD releases of the second and third installments edited as well?

If anyone can clear this up for me, I'd really appreciate it. You can email me at [email protected] because I often forget to check the Message Boards after I make a posting...

Thanks,
Erich Sage

If you're referring to Region 1, both the 1994 VHS release and the 2003 DVD release contact and edited cut of the mini-series. Only the Region 2 release contains the original broadcast version ... the reason being that Acorn Media owns the rights to distribute the edited cut in Region 1 and Channel 4 Distribution owns the rights to the original broadcast version.

The upcoming 20th Anniversary Edition (Region 1) will also be the edited version.
