Anyone finds this show similar to Aeon Flux?

I mean i watched those amazing shorts on MTV back in 92 when i was 11 and Sonic The Hedgehog reminds me of a SatAM furry version of the later MTV animated show (remember Aeon Flux? the spin-off show where she and Trevor talked). I mean there are similarities like a dark gritty future, Robotnik being like Trevor Goodchild and rebels like Sonic and Sally being both like Aeon trying to stop the dictator.
