Robotnick was a badass in this

Now in my opioion the best thing about this show was how awesome and yet badass Robotnik was. Does anyone agree he was awesome in this show? Because in Sonic X they just made him like a complete pussy.

reply

Yeah this version is also my favorite interpretation of Dr. Robotnik he's competent, nasty, and serious, in the first cartoon he was also a pussy and kind of stupid too.

reply

Agree. Robotnik was quite the BAMF in this Sonic. I haven't seen SonicX but he
was a complete wuss in "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" too. Anyone remember the Lucinda episode of that? He literally spent the whole show whinging a crying. This show was so much better overall.

I loved Robotnik in this. Hes so brutal and imposing!

reply

He was cool but I prefer him having the skinny arms and legs with the round body and sunglasses instead of him being stocky all over

Even Snivley was better than AOSTH Robotnik.

Goodness yes! Dr. Robotnik is awesome in this show so menacing, imposing yet interesting, and I think Jim Cummings voicing him has a lot to do with it, he was absolutely brilliant. Come to think of it, while I loved all the characters here, Robotnik is probably my favourite.

I don't get the hate for the AoSTH Robotnik, granted he wasn't as brutal as this version of Robotnik was, but he was awesome in his own angry comedic way. I don't really know why we can't like both of them, which I do.

But just to show how brutal the other one can be...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9SQcd7jMzk&feature=related look at what he does to his own robots just for not giving him eggs for his breakfast...I mean, it looks like Scratch is bleeding on the floor...damn that's brutal for a kids show.

I still can't help but love it, though.

You're joking right? First off his name is Eggman (Robotnik just sounds lame).
Second SatAm "Robotnik" is so pretentious but I guess that's just to go along with the rest of the series. He barely did anything rotten. I have the complete series box set (Bad purchase) and have watched all the episodes at least once (That was all I could stomach) and to honest I don't see the "evil" Eggman that everyone else does. I agree that Sonic X Eggman was a wuss. If they would've make him like the games he would have finally had an awesome show incarnation.

Actually, "Eggman" is the character's nickname. His full name, had you bothered to check is Dr. Ivo Robotnik with Eggman being a nickname he later adapted into his name, much like Tails is an adopted nickname of Miles Prower.

Also, I find it shocking that you find Robotnik sounds lame but "Eggman" sounds perfect. Guess there's a first for everything.

Though it's worth pointing out, in SatAM, they've pointed out his name to having been "Julian" before adopting the "Dr. Robotnik" title, which was adapted in the Archie comics, but that's an entirely different topic and holds no real bearing seeing how there's no real continuity between the cartoons, comics and games other than the use of characters.

It's not soo much what Robotnik "does" on the show as rather what he has done (or has alluded to). In this show, he perfectly executed a coup against the governing kingdom of Mobotropolis, imprisons and robotized thousands of citizens, responsible for the destruction of various cities, villages, etc.

While for actual "visual" actions... indeed, he most of the time just watches the events occur from his command chair barking orders and talking menacingly.

But with the game Robotnik/Eggman, looking in his past events in the games he's mostly stopped from his deeds by Sonic in his attempts of world domination or building his empire. The closest he managed to get was in Sonic Unleashed, where he managed cause the planet to break up into multiple pieces and manage to successfully build his empire on one of the continents. And then lost it after the events of the game.

So, the cartoon at least he's more accomplished with actually more or less controlling the planet apart from the times he's dealing with with Freedom Fighters sabotaging his facilities.

But, whatever. You've more than enough made it clear you obviously didn't enjoy the cartoon. Which again, whatever. Nobody says you have to.

Wait, are you implying that Robotnik's voice is just as stupid or should be just as stupid as Bale's Batman voice? I mean I see what you're trying to get at, just making sure. Robotnik's voice from this show is 10x's better and more understandable than Bale's atrocious Batman voice.

I thought he was dark and edgey yet completely what a villain should be

I believe the word you guys are looking for that best sums up the Dr. Robotnick of this series is "diabolical". Which I agree he is embolden as a great villain in this series and stands out among the other Robotnick incarnations.
