If I remember correctly during the original airing...

I vaguely remember anxiously watching the new Sonic cartoon premiere that Saturday morning September 1993 on ABC and the Super Sonic episode was aired. It obviously wasn't the first episode and I was confused why Tails wasn't in the show even though he was in the opening credits. All the episode listing dates say that it aired as the fifth episode, but I distinctly remember Super Sonic being the actual first episode to premiere. I can't remember if the rest of the episodes were aired out of order, but I remember when Sonic Boom eventually aired and thinking 'now THIS should be the first episode'. Anyone else remember?

I admit that it's been 22 years so my memory is a tad fuzzy but do know I watched the first aired episode when the show debuted. I'm pretty sure the first epsiode that aired on my NBC station was Sonic Boom but I'm not totally certain. For some reason my memory has the episode where Sonic finds his roboticized uncle Chuck as being the first episode I saw. That aside I can safely say that it was NOT "Super Sonic".
