For a show that doesn't really follow the game...

It actually captures the idea of being in a videogame fairly well, at times.

I rewatched some episodes not that long ago, and I noticed that there are some scenes, that would be right at home in a videogame, especially a platform game like Sonic. I'll have to watch again, to get the specifics, but there are scenes were the good guys, have to do things, like time their jumps on to a moving platform, or do something else that requires timing to get safely past - I'm sure there's more, but when I saw that it just really seemed like a videogame to me.

Well said. The original games don't offer much in the way of plot, so in order to make a TV show that was going to have any weight in the writing, the Showrunners had to treat it like a wide open sandbox to play in and expand on what they're given in ways that appealed to them.
