The Illuminatus Trilogy

I remember watching only a couple of the first season shows when this came out. the only thing I really remember of the show is its visual distinctions being almost verbatim to descriptions, especially of "Hagbard Celine's submarine Leif Erickson" and the appearance of talking dolphin in the books The Illuminatus Trilogy by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson.

There were other similarities I remember seeing at the time but it's been so long since I've seen the show.
