Why did Mr. Belding work at a country club during the summer?

Why did Mr. Belding work at a country club during the summer? As a high school principal, he had to have been making close to $200k back in the mid-90s, yet he was working with high school kids at a summer job at a country club? He must have had serious money issues!

There's never a reason given. Also those country club episodes aren't ever mentioned again. The only reason is that the writers/producers wanted Mr. Belding in those episodes probably to get people who were fans of the original show to watch it. I still can't believe this show lasted 7 seasons!

The country club episodes are mentioned plenty of times again. Brian and Rachel started dating in the country club episodes and they're featured in at least one clip episode. Also, Screech and Alison started dating. Alison was occasionally mentioned throughout season two and broke up with Screech via Dear John letter in the semester at sea episodes in season three.

Maybe it was in the actors contract to be in those episodes and the writers couldn't think of a believable reason to have Belding at the summer club or something? Him being a member of the country club would have made a lot more sense

Where do you live because here a principal's salary is nowhere near 200k. The average here is 98k.

A high school principal at a large public high school in Los Angeles probably makes at least $200k today. Maybe $125k back in the mid-90s.

Country clubs and resorts are a recurring in Saved by the bell.

Were they trying to recreate the Malibu Sands episodes?
