US viewers : Help!

Hey,

Can a US viewer please tell me what channel and what time the Ricki Lake show was shown on?

Thanks in advance. :-)

granted i haven't seen this show for nearly a decade. it played on nbc... i think. and it used to be on after maurry, at about three... two thirty now when i think about it. however station affiliates, like the ones in iowa where i'm from pulled the show after a year or so of drag queens and make-overs.
i loved the show, but it was too risky, thought provoking, and non-orthodoxly radical for the conservative way that iowa has fallen into.
the show is either based in new york or chicago, and if it is still on the air, it is only played for the local affiliates of the city. which when you think about is still a large enough base for a show to be influential.

Here it was on until 2004, but I could have swore I remember it being on Fox.

she might have switched. but when i was a kid we didn't have cable, and fox is usually a cable station anywhere in iowa (our only affiliates are nbc, abc, and pbs, about two places have cbs but they don't come in very clearly). since i remember watching ricki lake all the time when i was little, i know it couldn't have been on fox. also, i really want to say it was on nbc because it probably followed days of our lives, which my sisters (the tv decided in my house) were obcessed with days of our lives back in the 90's. but who could blame them, carrie and austin! vivian and ivan! to die for!

The show was syndicated. This means no one network produced, rather it was independently produced and then sold to local affiliates. That's why it was on different networks in different areas.

good answer. i wouldn't have thought of that. i think cut and clean and that option skips me everynow and then. and now i remember other show like that.

Im sorry. But I think this show is cancelled, because I used to watch it a long time ago. and when I went looking for it, I didnt see it.

reply

hey this probably isn't much help for you now. but i know for sure that it has been cancelled. Ricki lake decided to quit because she was going through a divorce at the end of 2004/early-2005. she is currently under contract by CBS, they plan to put her in an hour-long dram-ody pretty soon. i also think she is going to being a guest star on "the new adventures of old christine" next season.
