Why did this show get cancelled?
Why did Ricki Lake get cancelled? Was it because of poor ratings, did they not renew Ricki's Contract or something?
WHAT HAPPENED!
Well it lasted 11 years. Sony renewed her contract after the 11th Year,but Ricki killed/ended her own show! One reason was because she lived in Calfornia,but the show was Taped in New York. Ricki got tired of traveling back and forth. Also Ricki wanted to spen more time with her kids! Now the Good News is that Ricki Lake has sgined a deal with CBS to do a Game Show Marathon. It will last 7 episodes,and air sometime in May! Can't wait, Hope this helps.

I know but it was More tonned down then Jerry Springer~!At least on Ricki they didn't have people flashing/nudity on her show!

shareI used to watch it (along time ago when I used to watch talk shows and had no kids) and I thought it was good. I liked Rikki Lake, I like her better as a actress, she was on The King of Queens for about 6 episodes in 2000 or 2001, she was really good.
shareFinally, the fact that it sucked Hoover-style couldn't be avoided.
Talk shows are kinda for dumb kids and the comatose, if ya hadn't noticed.

I thinked it was cancelled because Ricki and the producers realised thast the show had run its course. It wasnt as good as it used to be. Ricki wanted different things.
For the record, no her show wasnt bad. It eventually became bad, but as I recall it it was a very serious show in the beginning with serious topics like racism, teens in jail and similiar.
It was only later, in 9998 or so, the show became silly with silly topics, like "Dragshow Divas Showdown" and similar.
But it was still a hoot to watch, much better than Jerry Springer.
Shame Rickis carrier plunged after the show, but maybe thats what she wanted.
Still, it would be nice if she continued to act. Rememmber her "King of Queens" guestspot as pretty good. Wouldve been nice to see her in more stuff, but I guess its her choice.
