Sadly, I read that he had passed. Not many people can maintain that girth and still be healthy.

Richard Griffiths was a man of Falstaff-ian girth, particularly when looking at the "Henry Crabbe" years - a time when the waistline was an equator...

He later went on to star as Hector in History Boys, on stage and screen, as well as the ten-ish years of Harry Potter as Uncle Vernon Dursley... if you notice in the last appearance in the series (...The Deathly Hallows, Part 1), like his co-star Harry Mellor (Dudley Dursley), Griffiths is clearly in a fat-suit (adding the appearance of about another 25lbs), Mellor's added closer to 100lbs.

In the words of Eric Cartman... not Fat, just big boned, festively plump, etc.

Sadly Griffiths passed due to complications of Heart Surgery.
