Was Super Sentai even considered a "children's" show?

In the Zyranger counterpart dealt with a lot of dark things that'd never make it into the Power Rangers.

The characters bleed, a lot, during the battles.
Bandora's (Rita's) son died in her arms, cue emotional scene.
Burai the Green Ranger (Tommy) died in Geki's (Jason's) arms.
Even small children are shown dying.Tthe kid who becomes the The White Ranger witnesses his mother fleeing, as he battles a kid who has a large pile of rocks fall on top of him leading to his death, before the kid dies he utters out of that his mother left him and she's never coming back.
Sexual references between the characters, like Scorpina and Goldar.

And if you go back to when the Sentai show started in the 70s, it was nothing resembling MMPR. They had a realistic approach back then, no dinozords or witches, but working as secret agents for the military. It was more like a Magnum PI type show then.

If this considered a children's show, are the Japanese just less pussified than American audiences?

Super Sentai is Like a Live Action DBZ

Seeing Characters Bleed and Voilence won't make Super Sentai a Childrens Show
But Power Rangers don't have blood (but only a bit in Time Force&Wild Force&Overdrive&RPM)

No.

Sentai is 100% a children's show. Yes, it deals with themes Power Rangers doesn't, but that is cultural differences. To them, that's normal kids show fare. The show can be very childish and silly (see bandora and crew breaking into a ridiculous song in Zyuranger).

In Japan, they look at Power Rangers as the more mature show, and think of sentai as the silly one. Sentai hardly has any adult following in Japan, it's considered a children's show through and through. As I said, cultural differences.

Let's roll some tits up the flagpole and see if anyone gets wood.

What could be the mature theme that they see MMPR, that Zyuranger doesn't have? MMPR is virtually 100% comic relief and slapstick.

Nina Storm has its comedic moments, but there is nothing compared to Bulk and Skull, the embodiment of slapstick.

MMPR is virtually 100% comic relief and slapstick.

It has a lot of comic relief, but it takes itself seriously when referring to the drama.

But I wasn't really referring to MMPR, which is pretty low down on the Power Rangers scale if you ask me. I was thinking of seasons such as In Space, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, RPM etc. (the latter of which was a 100 times more mature than it's sentai counterpart).

Let's roll some tits up the flagpole and see if anyone gets wood.

It was indeed a children's show but you bring up some good points, no one would have ever died in Power Rangers. Super Sentai was certainly a bit darker and dealt with more mature themes at times.

You Got that Right

In Space&RPM had a Better Storyline than its Sentai Counterpart
Dino Thunder had a Better Finale than its Sentai Counterpart
Time Force&Wild Force had a Better Theme Song than its Sentai Counterpart
In Space had a Few Likable Characters Than its Sentai Conterpart

Time Force&RPM&Megaforce&Super Megaforce&Dino Charge&Dino Super Charge don't have Bulk&Skull

no one would have ever died in Power Rangers.

I take it you haven't watched Lost Galaxy.

And also in RPM, the Red Ranger had a brother that died before the events of the show started. And actually stayed dead. He wasn't shown to be alive later on nor brought back to life somehow.

No I haven't. I only watched the original Mighty Morphin incarnation as a kid and lost interest after that, having gotten older and grown out of it. Power Rangers as a whole is way too childish for me to enjoy now, but I can still watch the original show for the sake of nostalgia, or with my daughter when she watches it.

And also in RPM, the Red Ranger had a brother that died before the events of the show started.

A character (that we never saw or heard from) who died before a show started is much different than someone actually shown being killed off.

Not as sad as not being able to accept a differing opinion. That's a burden that must be truly hard to live with.

Err... no. I watched it when I was a kid and then moved on, getting into other things like X-Men and Ninja Turtles, constantly changing what I was "into", much like most kids do. So, seeing as the show was brand new and currently airing for the first time, it was obviously not out of nostalgia. If you're talking about now, I don't watch it except for occasionally with my daughter where I get a few chuckles out of seeing things I remember from when I was a kid. There's nothing wrong with that and certainly does not make one a "nostalgia freak", but even if I was (which I certainly am regarding other things), so what? What's wrong with reliving good memories?

Less childish, but still childish. That's not a bad thing by any means, but I'm an adult. There are some kids shows that adults can also enjoy and Power Rangers is not one of them, at least not for me. You're arguing opinion again. I've seen some of the more recent shows and can't get in to them, much like my parents not being able to get into the original show while watching with me when I was a kid. Plus, you said MMPR Season 3, which is exactly where I stopped watching all those years ago. I'm sure there's plenty of good stuff in the other incarnations, but as I said it's just not my thing.

Oh shush, there's no need for that passive aggressive nonsense. And as I said, I just stopped watching Power Rangers at a certain age, it's just not my cup of tea. Just because I haven't watched much of the other shows doesn't mean I'm "living in the past".

Lightspeed Rescue and MMPR S3 aren't really childish. Hell the latter is when PR started to do story arcs rather than just the usual villain sends down a monster and the rangers defeat it plots and was the first time a ranger came pretty close to dying until Lost Galaxy. They're aren't as dark as those other seasons, but they still took themselves more seriously. This is also why a lot of PR fans liked Dino Thunder.

I dunno, maybe "childish" wasn't the right word. But it certainly is aimed at kids and pretty cheesy. I didn't mean to offend anyone who is a fan of Power Rangers, lord knows at one time I hardcore was, but it just isn't my cup of tea these days. Maybe someday I'll check out some of the other incarnations when my daughter watches them.

But I should clarify something. In my original post, I was just talking about this show, the original Mighty Morphin incarnation (which, if I'm not mistaken, is the board we are currently on) and comparing it to its Super Sentai counterpart. I don't have enough knowledge about the other versions of Power Rangers, hence why I was only referring to this particular version.
