Atroscious.

This is nothing short of the most boring film that i have ever been unfortunate enough to watch. The writing is terrible, and the characters are dull as is the long drawn-out storyline, the acting is poor and the accents are horrendous. If you are looking for a drama then it's certainly not 'The Man Who Cried' that you are after. Avoid it at all costs, this film is sure to waste valuable moments of your life.

Well I must disagree, this was most definately one of the greatest films I have ever seen. The acting on all sides was superb and the plot was absolutely thrilling which is why this certainly deserved a 10. I would recommend this heart warming tale to anyone.

Well, I really liked this. And I'm a man.

My mum lent it to me- it is definitely not my sort of thing (I like explodey films normally).

I thought that the story was good. It is about a complicated man and the difficulties that he (mostly) brings upon himself. I started off liking him a lot due to his home circumstances, but as it wore on I found that he was less and less likeable. The fact that I did not out and out despise him by the end surprised me. He is not a nice man. He treats his women as stepping stones and makes his son live a lie. By the end of it I even had sympathy for his nagging, evil wife. He'd lied to her too as he had lied to (almost) everyone else he met throughout the course of the story. The character (some of them anyway) seemed to be real people with real problems with love and commitment.

The acting was outstanding, particularly from the four main characters.

I have no wish to "waste valuable moments of your life" but you must be a soulless and artistically numb individual to describe this beautiful and sensitively crafted story as boring. The narrative and acting, especially from CiarĂ¡n Hinds and Amanda Root, are excellent.

You need to get some love in your life and perhaps attend evening classes as the only things that are truly "atroscious" are your spelling, poor punctuation and grammar.

Your spelling is atrocious.

Well I have to agree with the OP a little. I sort of like these type of mini series that is why I picked it on NetFlix. It was not the worst thing I saw. But it is a new member of it is so bad it is good club. Who did the lead character think he was Mack Daddy? Are we suppose to feel bad for the guy. I can't imagine how the son grew up to be such a nice guy with Big Mack Daddy as his father. He had no moral compass. The guy was bringing his son on dates with him and his married girlfriend for christ sake.
They made the women seem sour, but if I had a hubby like Mack Daddy I would be too. Only in the end does he seem to redeem himself. Like I said in my review. He would of been a good candidate for the Maury Povich show and Cheaters. BTW the movie was entertaining and the leads were very good. It was entertainingly bad.

Netflicks have been losing a lot of movies as long as they keep these mini series I love them.

I like your comments on this movie, It is refreshing to see posters view a guy in a difficult position/situation and not beat up on the character. If this had been told from the other side[a women doing this] there would be all kinds of views explaining she had her reasons.

I don't mind women finding good in there fellow women characters even though they may not deserve it. But most of them stay silent when a guy is looking for love or trying to find his way.

I try and judge characters [male and female] equally and find the good and bad in both. I wish we would get a lot more films showing that men are complicated as well, and reduce the ones where he cheats because of simply he is a bad person.
